Dubstep has many a face. Some say that our Dubfluencial is more Wobble than Bass and the forums alight with talk of what fits where and who listens to what. Here, we are anti class. I guess you could call us Subversive. I just don’t want to see what happen to UK Garage happen to Dubstep, were the sub genres ended up splitting the scene which eventually became its ultimate downfall. 

Of course there’s the hard bass, soulful and Reggae dub and everything else in between. Dubfluencial caters more for the harder bass fiend of course. But that doesn’t mean we do not listen to or appreciate the deeper side of Dubstep. So hence here is our special edition which we will drop every 5 episodes.

Dubfluence aka Dubfluencial 5.5 is exactly that. Lots of deep vibes, sensual bass and soulful intentions. Kick back and relax (maybe smoke some of that peng… that’s if you do that sort of thing of course! Dont do drugs and all that ) and enjoy the other side of Dubstep. Remember this is NOT Dubfluencial and is NOT full of hard tunes! So no moaning saying ‘i thought this was the new Dubfluencial reh reh’ those emails will be published in a section of shame. 

(Oh and for those who want to know and already asking lol, Dubfluencial is inspired by bass and Dubfluence is influenced by soul….. simple init).

Vol 5 or V if you know your Roman Numerals, is of course paying homage to one of the greatest game series of all time Final Fantasy. Myself and most at Ego Thieves are HUGE fans! With Advent Children coming to Blue Ray, a Final 13 Demo out and news that Final 7 will be added to the PSN store very soon it was only right to create a cover to suit. With a special intro I’m sure many fans will recognise its not to be missed. I also believe that if Dubstep existed in the world of Final Fantasy, Midgar would be skanking out to hard bass until the Turks came home.

Nope. This is not a joke, or a misspell error… this is Snoop Dog (yup the rapping one) on a Dubstep track. Now not just any Dubstep track, oh no that would be weak. But instead the ‘08 smash hit from Chase & Status Eastern Jam. I kid you not. Question: Is this good or bad for Dubstep? I still haven’t made up my mind but i will say i do like the chorus on the drop it goes very well just not sure about the rest. Check for yourself and download it if you dare…

Kanye West to appear in new Family Guy spin off show ‘The Cleveland Show‘. Now if you didn’t already know of the shows forthcoming series, then shame on your mug but check it out by clicking the picture thur <<<<. But confirmation has come through that Kaneyzee himself will have a featured part in the show as ‘MC Kenny West’. Not sure how often he will appear in the show or what his character is like (hoping its not your average Hip Hop stereo type) but we do know Kanye is a huge fan of Family Guy and has recorded all his lines already. Watch this space kids (and non kids who like me adore Seth ).

In other news one of my current favs still (even if people think he is over saturated) Kid Cudi is going to or has quit the music game. He has said in his blog that he is tired of  ” THE DRAMA THAT COMES WITH IT IS MORE OVERWHELMING THAN THE SHIT I WAS DEALING WIT WHEN I WAS PISS POOR BROKE.” Now we hope he has just had a really bad day and he sees that he has only just started and is a very talented dude. But big up’s to him as he wishes to concentrate on his acting career (not that the trouble is any less than the music industry no?) and claims he will finish his debut album with Chip. What ever you do Mr Cudi, good luck.

And last but not least with a big sigh and a huge ‘finally’ said loud. The Performing Rights Society (or PRS) have announced today that live performances in the UK are now worth more than album/music sales. That means for people like us, if your actually talented and you make worth while music and not manufactured crap the majors have washed over us to for many years. You can actually make a nice living without even selling any music. So why not do the right thing, make music free or subscription based (as I’ve been saying so for years!) and get your arses on stage and show the world why we should listen and pay to go see your music live in the shiny, glamorous flesh. With a Street Fighter 4 Dubstep track that should of been featured on the game itself.
